(QS. Al-Ahzab: 35)

SubhanAllaah!!! A great reminder regarding Salat (Prayer). May we always be amongst muslims who never neglect and delay Salat (Prayer)!!!

By Abu Eesa Niamatullah. When we are told that 'this is the best' or 'that was the greatest' or 'this will bring the most benefit' etc, have you ever thought who on Earth gave such people/editors the authority to tell us that? In an age when we have a plethora of 'Top 10' or 'Top 100' lists on everything from cars to films, from foods to places, one wonders where is that list that will really provide some benefit to us in this current short life

Introduction

Mankind comes across many afflictions and trials, sometimes in overwhelming sequences.  Removing the darkness of these worries, distresses, depression and grief is a very important matter to which Islaam gives serious attention...

Indeed the greatest darkness to envelope mankind and surely his greatest affliction is disbelief in Allah and to associate partners with Him in any form (kufr and shirk).

The Sunnah and its Position in the Islamic Sharee`ah As-Sunnah wa Makaanatuhaa fit-Tashree` al-Islaamee Translated by: Ahmed M. Hashim

The Companions of the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) used to take the ruling on different matters in their lives from the Qur’aan, which they use to learn from Rasoolullaah (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam).

In many instances, the aayaat (verses) of the Qur’aan treat a subject in a general manner without a specific condition. Sometimes the aayaat will come as an absolute ruling without any precondition or limitation required by time, place, etc.  As an example of what came in a general way in the Qur’aan is the Salaat.

Being humen, we all crave to have the best in life, to get the best in life, and to be the best in life. Don't we? How many times have these thoughts crawled in our brains?

"I want to be the best employee or the best student!" "I want to own the best mobile, the best car and be married to the best wife."

Dear brothers and sisters, as Muslims has the thought ever come to us that "I want to be the best Muslim?" Leave alone working for it, have

Why should you, a young Muslim, be helping to bring your friends closer to Allâh?

After all, you've got your own struggles to deal with: trying to explain to hostile teachers why you pray, Hijab discrimination, standing up in class when the professor attacks Islâm, dealing with parents who think you've gone nuts because you're growing a beard, or all the other difficulties faced by a number of practicing Muslim youth?

From 'The Book of Sincerity'

Since the matter reaches the level of danger and seriousness that it has there is no doubt that being rescued from riyaa' and those things which nullify actions will make the truthful muslim concerned. The first thing which requires caution and alertness is knowing the causes of this very dangerous disease.

Imam Ibn ul Qayyim al Jawziyyah.

The Prophet sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam used to make a number of supplications related to good character.

"O Allah, guide me to good character, none guides to good character but You..." [Muslim]

"O Allah, I seek refuge in you from bad character, deeds and desires." [at-Tirmidhee]

Shaykh Salman al-`Awdah

Or you could say, the distance between claims and deeds.  For speaking true words is a facet of action, referred to as the action of the tongue. It is the first tangible deed that someone performs when he announces his entry into Islam:  “I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and Muhammad is His messenger”.

Bis-millahir-rahmanir-raheem.
As'salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu,
My question is concerning dhikhr after every fard salat.  I have read hadith that state recite  "Allahu Akbar", "Al-hamdulillah" and "SubhanAllah" 33 times each.  I was informed that it only a total of 30 times after each compulsory(Allahu Akbar, Al-Hamdulillah and SubhanAllah 10 times each).  Which, if either, is the correct method for this particuliar dhikr? Also, it has been related to me that you perform the same before you go to sleep except you recite "Allahu Akbar" 34 times which will total one hundred.

What is the reward recorded on your behalf for this action? Finally, what is the proper method for performing dhikr on the right hand ? Do you start with the thumb going down and left to right?  Which joints to you count on? Your reply would be greatly appreciated, insha'Allah.   Jazakullahkhair

Praying at home or the masjid, and then sneaking out to party at a nightclub. Wearing hijaab around family, and then turning into a fashion diva at school. One person, two worlds, and a desperate struggle to juggle them both. This is the reality which many Muslim youth in the West are living in. We can call them "cultural chameleons," or describe them as having "split personalities.

Care in Building Characteristics of the Believers © 1996 Jam`iat Ihyaa Minhaj al-Sunnah
From the morals and manners of the Salaf was that they would constantly search their souls to breed in them the characteristics of the believers, and to discard the characteristics of the hypocrites. One is the opposite of the other. A summary of the believers characteristics is mentioned in His great Book saying,

Siapapun suami didunia ini pasti selalu mendambakan istri yang sholehah, namun seperti apakah istri yang sholehah itu. Sesuai sabda Nabi Muhammad SAW ciri istri yang sholehah adalah:
